I have been surprised by the difference in the writing process for the two books I have written. The second draft of The Road to Hell went twice as fast. That is not necessarily a bad thing, just different.
While I can’t pinpoint the specific reason, it may have something to do with applying things I learned from the first go round. I have also not placed a specific deadline on this project, but have committed to certain daily goals that I don’t beat myself up over if I don’t meet.
It will be interesting to see what happens with my third and fourth books, and so on. So far, I am convinced that each will be a specific journey revealing something about God, myself and my faith that I have not fully explored, as well as help me grow as a writer.
With that said, I already have another book started, thoughts about a possible sequel(s) for The Road to Hell, and a potential post-apocalyptic series. I have my work cut out for me, but I know that if I continue to seek God’s will, He will show me new and interesting ways to share my faith, using realistic characters who struggle like the rest of us to understand His ways, or just drop everything and follow Him.
